A Message from Jo

Hi Everyone,

I hope you’ve all been keeping well! We’ve reached the halfway point of 2025, and what better way to mark it than by coming together as a community at one of the biggest events in our industry – ODMAFair 25!

My journey in optics began back in 1986, and I still vividly remember my first optical fair at Centrepoint Tower. It only took one event to get me hooked. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to attend many more – across states, with various companies, and even on my own time – all driven by a genuine passion for discovering new innovations, spotting emerging trends, and connecting with incredible people and businesses.

From Friday, June 27th to Sunday, June 29th, the next instalment of ODMAFair will take place in Sydney – and this year, I’ll be there representing Optipro. My aim is to meet as many members and suppliers as possible, with a focus on growing our member network and expanding our list of supplier partners who support independent optical practices.

If you’re attending, please come and say hello! We’ll also have a presence at the Opticare stand, where our banner will be up for all to see.

Tips to Make the Most of Your Time at ODMA 2025

ODMA is tomorrow! It is the perfect time to get organised and make the most of your visit.

I thought the best way I can support you during this busy period is by sharing a few practical tips to help you plan ahead and maximise your time at ODMA:

Allow plenty of time

ODMA can get quite busy, so give yourself ample time to explore the stands, have conversations with suppliers, and take everything in at a relaxed pace.

Review the program early

Check out the education and business sessions in advance and register for the ones that interest you. Planning early helps ensure you won’t miss out on high-demand sessions.

Plan your travel

Whether you're local or travelling in, be sure to factor in your travel time. If you’re driving, research parking options ahead of time and allow time to secure a good spot.

Set a budget

With so many great offers and exciting new products on display, it’s easy to overspend. Decide on your budget beforehand and keep it top of mind while you browse.

Review your stock levels

Take time to assess your inventory and revisit your buying plan. ODMA is a great opportunity to discover new brands, but make sure any additions suit your demographic and available space.

Schedule breaks

It’s easy to lose track of time, so set reminders to pause and refuel. There are plenty of food options at the venue. Just remember to take care of yourself to stay energised throughout the day.

Explore equipment options

If you’re considering upgrading or purchasing new equipment, ODMA is the ideal setting to compare solutions. Note where key equipment suppliers are located and make time to explore, ask questions, and take advantage of event-only offers.

Consider your return travel

You’ll likely pick up brochures, samples, and materials that take up space and weight. Keep this in mind when packing or opt to download digital information where available.

Design Eyewear Group Acquires MENRAD Brand and License Agreements, Appoints VMD Eyewear as Exclusive Distributor of Jaguar Eyewear in Australia

Design Eyewear Group, a global leader in premium eyewear design and distribution, is pleased to announce the strategic acquisition of key license brands from MENRAD, including the iconic Jaguar Eyewear brand. As part of this expansion, Design Eyewear Group has appointed VMD Eyewear (Vision Marketing & Distribution) as the exclusive distributor of Jaguar Eyewear in Australia, effective immediately.
